Countertops and sheds

Spent this last weekend doing work on the house. Actually, more accurately I spent last weekend helping other people do work on our house. In a roughly chronological sequence:

Nice, my kind of posting; photos only. See Visco, you should read more books like this blog entry.

On a side note, what kind of f**ked up angle is that roof on the shed?

I have another comment. I LOVE that every picture of Steve is him standing there doing nothing. I bet Z was happy you helped out. Or at least watched.

It's a slatbox Goody, hence the angle.

Also, Z expressly ordered us out of the kitchen as we were in the way.

Yeah, it's a saltbox. But that's stupid. A saltbox design was strictly for new england type of winters allowing for a larger buffer between liveable space and the cold outside. It makes no sense in a shed.

This has been Ryan "Bob Vila" Goodwin on "This old house!"

Wow! Nice work everyone! I must say that I am impressed that the projects turned out so well and that you didn't kill each other in the process. Can't wait to see it in person!

Vila. How exactly does the saltbox keep the living space away from the cold?

Also Visco. What, no pictures of the finished project?

Yeah, well, I'd love to post pictures of the finished project, but it's been raining ever since, and I'm also in Vermont. Soon though, JR, soon.

Well JR,

Here are a few pics to depict my reasoning.

There was always an attic and/or storage area on the "cold" side of the house to add a buffer between the outside and living space.

I'm just merely stating the facts that making a shed a slatbox design takes away a little space (area of a triangle). But I am sure Visco wanted it to look cute.

You're goddamn right I wanted it to look cute. It had to meet up to the Visco standards, and we are a damn attractive people.
